Who is Behind Profit.FM?

Profit.FM is a team effort between Mike Johnson and Gary Prendergast.  They have each made a name for themselves in different areas of Internet Marketing.  Mike Johnson is best known for developing the Autoblog Blueprint, while Gary Prendergast is one of the guys behind the “PIG” products (TagPIG, CommentPIG, CloakPIG…).

Both have been in the industry for quite some time and have a record of putting together high quality products.

What is Profit.fm?

Profit.FM, which is short for Profit Focused Marketing, is intended to be a complete product that takes you from beginning to end in Internet and Affiliate Marketing.  The purpose of the program is to cover all aspects of Affiliate Marketing from niche marketing, to creating and promoting your own products.  It is expected to be very in-depth and comprehensive.

Profit.FM is intended to be a complete product which will take you from A-Z in Internet and Affiliate Marketing. From Niche Marketing, similar to what Mike Johnson did with the Autoblog Blueprint (but multi-faceted and much more comprehensive), to creating your own products and marketing them. Profit.FM will be a complete portal for learning and building your business online.

While it may be based around a singular concept (building a successful Internet Marketing business), Profit.FM is NOT a singular technique. You will be taught how to implement different strategies and diversify your business.

I’m just starting to get my arms around all the content, but this is what I know about it so far: Profit.FM is made up of (1) detailed content and a (2) set of premium resources.

Profit.FM Content

Profit.FM will be pretty robust, so any experience level (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) should be able to benefit from it. You will be provided with access to the following:

• A library of premium wordpress themes valued at over $1,000
• 2 content-only webinars per month
• Over 150 videos (not including tutorials)
• An active member’s forum to fill in any gaps
• An integrated feedback system (this will allow members to describe what topics they would like to learn more about, influencing new content that will be added)

Additionally,you also have access to two dynamic tools:

• Manage.FM – a complete system which will allow you to easily build and update your WordPress blogs.
• Niche.FM – A research tool that will make it easy to find and exploit niches

I think it’s important to note that Profit.FM is not expected to be a “static” product. The developers have indicated that they expect it to grow and change over time. We all know that Internet Marketing is a fast moving industry, so you’d expect any course you purchase to be updated accordingly. That being said, they are offering a monthly subscription or a lifetime membership during the launch, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they take away the lifetime membership option at some point (that’s just a guess on my part, though).

Profit.FM Plugins

I love tools that automate tasks or help me be more efficient, and it’s especially comforting when you have multiple tools that you know were developed to complement each other well. Landing.FM – create landing pages without messing with theme. review pages, squeeze pages. can be used with any theme. tremendous power and flexibility

• Social.FM – This is a powerful social plugin that integrates your blog with Facebook, Twitter and Google. Of course, it does everything you’d expect (auto-posting, social media widgets, sharing, etc.), but it also includes much more. For instance, you’ll get a Facebook Fan Page builder with a simple drag-and-drop interface. This will allow you to create content within Facebook, or require visitors to “Like” your site before getting access to content. You’ll have Google Maps integration, multiple shortcodes, Open Graph integration, and more.
• Tag.FM – This is an optimized tagging plugin. It will allow you to auto-tag your posts through keyword association.
• Content.FM – It has a drag-and-drop interface to pull content from different data sources. It can also be used to build affiliate data feeds.
• Spin.FM – This will leverage the data pulled from Content.FM. It is a completely new plugin, not just a different version of Mike Johnson’s WP-Spin. You are provided with four ways to spin your content: (1) internally from a database; (2) using The Best Spinner API; (3) using SpinChimp API; (4) using Spin Rewriter.
• Cloak.FM – This is a link cloaking and SEO plugin. It has a neat feature that allows cookie pre-loading, which can be done only on the actual page if you choose.

Some of these tools may sound similar to products that already exist, but they are actually brand new (with different features) and have been designed from the ground up. I believe these tools will be a one-time cost and will not require membership.

I’ve done my best to provide as much information as possible.  Full disclosure: please understand I am not associated with this product in any way. All the details I’ve provided have been organized through my personal research, and represents what I believe to be the best available information. However, it’s possible that some of this may change as we are still several weeks away from launch.

Profit.FM Review

Profit.fm is different than most of the courses you’ve recently seen being launched primarily because it is taking a comprehensive approach in teaching you how to succeed, rather than focusing on micro-strategies. The benefit to this approach is that it is teaching you how to build a well diversified business using a variety of strategies.  The course focuses on teaching you the fundamentals of Internet Marketing and shows you how to successfully implement these strategies.  It’s easy to be skeptical when you see so many “junk” courses being released, but I can attest to the fact that a good course is like pure gold.

There are only a few marketers that I watch very closely, and Mike Johnson is one of them (that’s why you’re seeing me put this post out so early). I more familiar with Gary Prendergast as a software developer rather than a marketer (he’s one of the guys behind all the “PIG” products), so I expect they will make a great team.

Summary and Recommendation

As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been a big fan of Mike Johnson’s for some time, so I have really high hopes for Profit.FM.  I’m writing this review on 1/19/12 (the day after the launch), so there is still a lot of content for me to go through, but I can say that it looks to be pretty high quality so far.  The course uses a mix of written text and videos to deliver the content.  I personally think some of the videos would have been better presented as text, but the important thing is that the content is good.  I should also point out that the videos are in HD, so they are very clear and easy to follow.

Practically, I think they could have done a better job of designing the site.  I have to give them credit in trying to incorpoate user rating/feedback to highlight quality content, but I feel it makes the site it a little difficult to navigate.  I hope they are able to make it a little more user freindly going forward, as I personally prefer how the Autoblog Blueprint was structured.

Pricing is subject to change, but I think it is reasonable for what you are getting.  I would recommend purchasing Profit.FM at the current pricing (see below), but if the price increases after the launch, I’ll have to re-evaluate this.  As of 1/18/12 pricing is as follows (you can choose one or the other, you do not need to pay a monthly subscription if you choose to purchase the lifetime membership):

It is recommended that you go through all the content at least once before taking any action.  I’d like to reiterate this point since you’ll get so much more out of the program if you soak in all the information first (although you can probably skip some of the basic WordPress and/or Cpanel tutorials if you are comfortable with the technical aspect of building sites.)
